Mike Nelson and Other MST3K Cast Are Back!
MSTK3K fans have been floating around the universe without a home since the show was canceled in 1999. Well, it may not quite be MST3K 2.0 but there's finally a new way to get your fill of movie mockery - http://www.rifftrax.com. Mike Nelson serves up MP3 commentary tracks that you download (from $1.99-$3.99) and sync up to your DVDs using a CD player, computer or iPod (or if you're enough of a tech geek you can figure out how to create a custom DVD with their commentary on it). Occasionally other MST3K alums Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett join in on the fun as well (any commentary with the three of them is highly recommended). The great part is that these commentaries don't go to obscure b-rate sci-fi flicks from the past... these commentaries go to more recent movies begging for some MST3K-ish treatment such as Road House, Over the Top, Top Gun, Star Trek V, Star Wars Episode I, and many more! I plan to start with Star Trek V and Star Trek VI and to try to create custom DVDs so they're more fun to watch. Luckily the site has some samples that give you a taste of what to expect. By only providing their commentary in MP3 format the price remains cheap (not to mention they probably couldn't afford the royalties on these films if they tried to release actual DVDs with the commentary already synced up). So although it's not ideal and requires a little extra work on our end at least we're getting more commentaries from the comedic geniuses and its to films we only dreamed MST3K would ever be able to use. So what are you waiting for? Go watch the samples and ENJOY!
Trix Are Back
One of the greatest travesties of the nineties was changing Trix cereal to from round puffs to fruit shapes. Many of us could never make the adjustment and were forced to surrender our Trix addiction. There was nothing worse than the tip of a corn puff banana straight into the gums. Well, after more than a decade of waiting the petitions and letters to our state representatives have finally paid off! Trix has now returned to its roots and adopted its original round corn puff shape. A Trix fix at almost thirty years old doesn't quite have the same impact as it did before you hit your teens, but it's better late than never. So enjoy Trix's "new" shape... the original... the way they were always meant to be. It just may be as close to a Utopian society as we'll ever get.

Farting Preacher
It has come to my attention that this clip hasn't yet been posted and we would be remiss not to include this gem on Miscellaniest. And what better time to offer it up than after our recent post of the Mario music done with hand farts? Will we ever solve the mystery of what makes flagellation so funny? I sincerely hope not.

SNL Star Wars Auditions
Hey gang. I've been trying to find the complete version of this for awhile. It's an SNL sketch with host Kevin Spacey. They aired the "lost" Star Wars audition tapes. I think this came out about the same time as the Special Edition. Spacey does some great impressions of Christopher Walken, Walter Matthau, and Jack Lemmon. The first link is the Spacey stuff. The second is Burt Reynolds and Barbara Streisand. Enjoy!
